 Obedience

Obedience is a canine sport discipline, in which the dog and the handler should display harmonious and joyful cooperation. The competition is divided into several classes, the easiest of which – “0” requires just a few basic obedience exercises. Therefore, any dog of any breed can be successfully trained to participate in this class.

Our adventure with obedience was inititiated out of sheer necessity to control the wild and rampant temperament of young Una. Una tended to be all over the place, frollicing and playing tirelessly – so to teach her basic obedience as well as rules of cooperation with human was simply essential. And as we’re working on basic obedience, why not go a step further and get involved in competitive obedience?

We were lucky to meet Ela and Azir, who shared some training secrets, always being very helpful and offering advice. Ela was also the one to encourage us to take part in our first obedience competition in Ryczywó? on June 3rd 2005. Stress, weakness in the legs and fear… and the result: excellent!

After this competition we’ve got interested into other canine sport disciplines so we simply lack time to focus on obedience.. but we mean to come back to it :)
